TriSquare XRS TSX300 Review Part 1

TriSquare XRS TSX300 two way radio. I have tested four radios in the simplest of configurations and all have problems with loosing track of one another or lagging connect times upward to eight seconds. UPDATE: TriSquare has informed us that because of the packaging, these radios were several years old . This may explain the dead batteries and the sync problems. They have offered to send replacements so we can re-evaluate their performance. Stay tuned.

I have a need for a 2-way radio system for 50-sq mi coverage?

I am looking to implement a radio dispatch system with a base and several portables. I need to cover around 50-sq miles of territory. I am new to Radio technology and would like to get suggestions on how to do this. I already have a cpl of P1225 Moto radios and base (tuned to GMRS/FRS) and get about 6-miles, but am open to a forklift upgrade to get what I need. Research I have done is very confusing. Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

        warmest regards,
        -Robert

How can I get my 2-way radio to work with a repeater?

I bought two Midland GXT-720 2-way radios. It has a 30 mile range on High Power setting. I obtain the FCC license and joined a local group in my city, and they have very powerful repeater. I have the right Frequency and CTCSS code, but I cannot transmit over the repeater. I am a couple of miles away from the mountain the repeater is at, but I can hear people from cities several miles away, transmitting. I have two radios, same model, and both of them don’t work on the repeater. What can I do? Thanks.
