Is there a 50 mile range 2-way walkie talkie radio?

Is there a 2 way radio that goes beyond 40 miles? What if I’m in a mountaneous terrain, and there is a big mountain between the 2 radios, will the signal go above or around the mountain, or will it not work?

I was thinking of going across the whole Bog Bend national park on the Rio Grande by canoe and then letting my folks know when to come and pick me up by radio.

How can I adapt a MIDLAND 1001Z 2 Way Radio for home-base style use?

I know that it is meant to be used in a car, but I would like to use it as a home-base style cb radio in my home. What kind of power adapter would I need? What else do I need to do/get to use this as a home-base cb radio in my home?

Reliable 2 way radios for hunting…?

I have tried quite a few and not happy with any of them so far…even the 20 mile ones seem to cut-out or don’t have a vibrate setting when hunting. Has anyone found a set that is compatable with other brands and has good range? -I hunt within 80 acres of other members in my group, but it is heavily wooded and a bit hilly-

Thanks everyone.
Lock and load. Keep your powder dry.

My friend and I live about 12 miles apart according to mapquest, as I drove home from her house we could only hear eachother for about 1 mile, maybe 2. We are on a high frequency level and use the boost button. It snowed earlier in the day but it wasnt snowing at the time, i dont know if that would have any effect. Please help, we really want to use them from our houses!

Where can I find really small 2 way radios?

Ok, Im working on a little project, and I need to find a set of REALLY small 2 way radios.
Basically, I have an accessory to a costume Im going to be wearing; its a Saiyan power scouter from the show Dragonball Z. For those who dont know what that is, it basically an a lens that sits in front of your eye and it displays information about how strong someone is. The lens is attached to an earpiece that also serves as a communicator.
This is a picture of the scouter, its the exact same on I have.

So, I have 2 of these things, and I want to get 2 really small 2 way radios to put inside them. The area inside the scouters I have to work with is about 2 inches high by 3 inches wide by half an inch deep. Im planning on removing the casing from the radios, so only the circuit board, batteries, and buttons have to fit. I dont need to fit any of the case or the antenna or anything.
So basically I need to find a set of 2 way radios that are about 2.5 inches by 4 inches at the most, not counting the antenna. I figure if I take off the cases It’ll be small enough/

So, can anyone tell me where I can find some radios that small?

One last thing, I’ve already thought of using a bluetooth headset instead of a 2 way radio, but my phone doesnt have bluetooth. So unless I can find a way to use a bluetooth headset without a phone, that wont work.

Thanks in advance, people! Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Any private pilots out there?

After looking at some flight charts, etc..it is great to see the flight/radio frequencies which one can use to listen to pilots. I wanted to be able to listen to pilots who are take off and landsings or touch and goes or final appoach. Granted, this can become quite boring for most, but it improves my skills as I am now only a student pilot. My question: What are the one way radios, or hand held walkie talkies? called..which one can buy in order to listen to ground control, or tower and the pilots?

I would also like for the pagers to be able to communicate in close range without the need of a network (i.e walkie talkie) and for many to be able to operate in close range of each other. Thanks to all of you who just like to collect points but I only want answers from people who actually know what they’re talking about. If you don’t know the answer please spare my time and everyone elses. You will be flagged.
